Thousands of Security Personnel will Safeguard Ahok’s Inauguration

As reported before, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama will be inaugurated as Jakarta Governor today, Wednesday (11/19), at the State Palace. Besides the President Security Details, (Paspampres) that will guard in ring 1, the inauguration will also be secured by 3,800 policemen who will safeguard around the palace.

Overall, there are 10 thousand personnel on guard. We are ready for all condition

“Paspampres is in ring 1. And in ring 2 around the palace, we deploy 3,800 personnel who are also supported by pamdal (inner security details). Overall, there are 10 thousand personnel on guard. We are ready for all condition,” stated City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto, Tuesday (11/18).

According to him, the inauguration is scheduled at 2 PM. Until now the City Police Traffic Directorate has not planned any traffic diversion around the State Palace. While regarding demonstration act, there is still no demonstration proposal yet from mass organizations (ormas) which all this time refuse Ahok’s leadership.

“There is no mass organization inform us about demonstration related to the inauguration. If they performed peace action, we will serve them. But if the action went anarchic, we will disband them,” asserted Rikwanto.
